The Washington of today is nothing like it was during the days of Thomas Jefferson.  The U. S. Congress was intended to be assembled of individuals whose focus was to serve their nation in the political arena and then return to their respective careers.  Today, being a member of Congress has become a career to most of the Washington elite.  I believe it is time for term limits within the House and the Senate, all in an effort to restrict the power of the federal incumbency over the American people.  Term limits would keep political focus on the constituents and not the lobbyists who seek to gain and keep influence with career politicians.
